just food for thought from the falcon crowd (a distant relative of the maverick)....
the falcon people like to use granada discs and related hardware. however, a very popular addition to those granada parts is the use of a "geo" master cylinder + vacuum booster. it is very small, but adds enough boost to be effective. it also doesnt interfere with the shock tower to firewall crossmembers. (scuse my lacking for terminology)
if it works for them.. why wouldnt it, us?

A friend of mine is restoring '34 Ford coupe. He had converted to power brakes on the car. He has used the power booster and master cylinder from a late '80's/early 90's Plymouth Laser, which came from the factory with 10" brakes.

This unit is signifcantly smaller (diameter and thickness) than the Granada units I have seen and will even fit in my '74 Maverick with little problem. He claims that I can by a correct length pedal-to-booster rod to use my existing pedal assembly.

Does anyone here think that this booster will be effective in stopping my car (if I choose to do this conversion)? I am not thrilled about putting a Chrysler product on my car, but, I would love to have power brakes. Any other suggestions?
