I also have a 72 302 maverick. The air conditioning is the very reason my mom bought the car back in '72!! I tell you, that thing is one big mother. It takes up the entire front half of the engine compartment. Not only that, but it weighs a ton. You would be better off removing it, like I did. This will trim a good deal weight, and look tons better. Unless the car is your transportation, which seems hard to believe now that the car is 30 years old.
