:=Can i use the flexplate off of a 250 on my 302 (will it work corectly without any later damage)
A flexplate will only cost you $15 or so at the parts store. I usually replace mine whenever I do an engine change, just to aviod pulling the engine again after it breaks a tooth. ............................... Jim, all the different sixes and eights operate at different balance values. Donnot mix the flexplates. If you are hooking up to a C4 auto trans, a 157 tooth 302 plate is needed. Results of imbalance is huge vibration and shake. For example a 302 and a 5L engine cannot use the same plate for this reason, even though both are the same displacement. There are exceptions only if custom applications are being put togather. Ken |
