Ken, Actually the lower compression is one of the things I found appealing about my '79 block. The 8.1:1 compression is just right for me to mount a (show) 6-71 blower on it with 5psi of boost. According to my figures it should raise the compression to 9.5:1, add roughly 73hp and still be totally streetable on pump gas.
My understanding is that running high compression with a supercharger is generally a bad idea .Regards,

P.S. I'm running TRW forged pistons, Lunati cam and a mains stiffener so I figure I'll be ok running a low 5psi of boost. Eye Candy with a little extra performance ;)

These heads will be of no help to improve compression. They are however desirable units when the piston deck height clearence in the 73 block is reduced to zero.
