I have the alburn 8" it's not had to insall but there are a few things you have to do. I had to grind some metel off pionon carrer bearing area for clearance for the cone. The alburn also uses differant side bearings the part numbers are in the instructions.

After breaking 4 8" rear ends(the only reason I have'nt change to a 9" is because of the expesive alburn) this last time I used ARP stud kit for the bearing caps I highly recomend this for any rear end.

As for the mustang ll gears 74 v6 MT have 3.55s and lately I've been finding 78 v6 autos with 3.40s. for stength go with the richmond gears they have better tooth contact 11/39 vs 9/32 from ford
