So far I have gathered the following (according to the VIN and your help):
Ref VIN # 0X91T398474 "0" = Year = 1970 "X" = Assy Plant = St. Thomas "91" = Body Serial and Type Code = 2-Door Sedan Standard "398474" = six place Consectutive Unit Number Seen on Tag only (refer to pic): 1) "22F" = Date Code = 22nd of June" according to decode page Seen on Tag only but questionable: 1) "62A" = A redundancy of Body Serial and Type Code = 2-Door Standard? Y/N ____? 2) "38" = District - Special Equipment Code = Pittsburg (which would mean 'what' exactly? ____________? 3) "45" = What? (Eliminate "DSO" possibility, there is no "45")_________? 4) "UP" = What? (No reference made on decode page) _________? 5) "LO" = What? (No reference made on decode page) _________? 6) "8" = "3.20:1" Axle Ratio (presumption)? 7) "INTER A BLACK" = "Black Vynl Interior" (deduced) 8) "RMLR" = What? _____________? Take a stab, Anyone? Thanks Again, Rick
THE TAG READS: 0645 B2 26E
The car was a 200 cid, C-4, Original Paint colour was "Beige/Gold" with same-coloured interior with bench seats. My 1977 4-Door has the following: 0514 MV54A B3 16
TT VTW 2R9D RED This car has the two-tone (TT) Red (2R) and White (9D) paint with a white vinyl top (VTW). The Interior is RED Vinyl Bench Seats. It is also a 4-Door (54A). As for the rest, I don't Know. A parts car that I had puchased many years ago had the following buck-tag: 0269 MV62A B3 14 T148331 RAT 4V GRN This car was a 1977 2-Door (62A) with 200 cid, Ivy Green (4V). You might want to contact Dave Boyer, he apparently has been spear-heading the whole buck-tag thing. Just as a note, the later cars (1977's of mine) had another tag underneathe these tags, but were real thin and stamped with random numbers and letters both inside out,and upside down. I hope this sheds some light on your problem. Good luck, Paul Masson
