I'm running a 302 V8 (warmed slightly Does anyone have a suggestion for a good locking diff that is quite? I'm using this car for street/show so I can't use a spool. How hard are these to install? Any help would be appreciated! I would recommend buying a new auburn gear "pro" series, these will work for any ratio 8" diff. Ford made 2 different posi diffs for the 8", a traction lock with 4 pinions and a equilock with two pinions. I recently purchased a equilock at a local swap meet for $400 with a 3:00 gear, but the differential cross pin was loose, a machine shop can repair this. you can identify a limited slip by is having a much thicker flange where the ring gear bolts to the carrier. I bought the Auburn locally for $425. Any 8" you can find, from early mustangs, ect. will bolt into your housing, but the yoke may be different. E-mail me if you have any more questions |
