there's nothing wrong with a 351m or a 400. The 400 will make plenty of power due to it's 4" stroke, just at a lower rpm than the "other" small-blocks. These engines are almost as tall, almost as wide (within 2") as a 460, that's why they dont carry the popularity. Why swap in a 400 when a 460 will fit and make more HP? Also, the heads on the "m" engines are SIMILAR to the cleveland 2v's, but stick your finger in a cleveland exhaust port, then stick your finger in the "m" head's port...obvious difference.
