i,ve got a 71 maverick,351w, that i use for drag race only. runs mid 13's in street class. has anyone that races had any problems with them removed. sure looks a lot cleaner and easier to get to a lot of areas. thanks

When I bought my 74 Comet, the braces were not in it. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, because they were never there. I went to a junkyard and got a set to install. Once I installed them, I knew they were there for a reason.:-) The handling improved ALOT once they were in. They were put in to support the frame and stop the car from flexing during hard cornering, and to keep the shock towers in place.
I just figured I needed an alignment, because the tires would squeal when I turned corners:-)
