If anyone is interested I have an original Comet GT hood sitting in my garage, the hole is already cut out for a 9" air cleaner, it has no scoop because I used it on my new fiberglass hood. everything else is there including the little emblem on the front. It has no rust and has the original paint on it from 74. Even if you didn't want the hole in the hood it could be patched, either way you don't see it with the scoop on. I have seen the scoops on ebay and I'm pretty sure there are a few other ford/mercury cars that used that same scoop.
