What are you tradeing? The best mod to make power on the I6 is headers. Kinda expensive though, you can get them at Clifford performance. All I have done with my I6 200 is a full tune up (Platinum plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, points, and a K&N air filter) I did them all at once and felt the difference. Still slow though. I only run in the high 18's. I have been thinking about going to a 3.00 rear. Stock is 2.79 on almost all mavs. 3.55 seems like it would speed you up quite a bit but you wouldn't have much top speed. The good thing about these engines would be their reliability, you can torture them and they will take it. It is also VERY easy to do general tune up work since there is plenty of room in the bay. I included a link to the inline 6 message board, they are the ones you want to ask. I found a guy who may trade me for his Black 2 door 76 Comet with 6cyl 200. If I make the trade what kind of [cheap] engine modifications could i make to improve performance? How good are these engines? Any info at all would be appreciated sine i've never owned an inline 6 car.
