Thanks for the info. What i meant by cheap was bolt on modifications that did not require tearing the engine down and rebuilding it. Some of you guys get into some heavy stuff.
By the way, what i plan to trade is a 1958 Chevy biscayne and before you guys begin to think I may be losing it, the reason I may make the trade is because though the smallblock v8 with 350 heads and the manual tranny [3 on the tree] are in sound running order it still has numerous electrical problems, including the blower motor, and wiper motor are shot and needs body work [rust under the chrome], and a new interior. The parts are sometimes expensive and are hard to come by and now that me and my wife have separated I can't afford an off-frame restoration . They only made the '58 bodystyle for one year. Besides I also want all of my cars to be Fords. It just seems to make life easier and Comets are cheap to work on even if the front body panels are as rare as hen's teeth. Also the guy who has the comet wasn't interested in selling it [he's a comet lover too, he also has a sky blue 4 dr comet in his back yard] but when i mentioned that i had the old chevy he said that he always wanted a classic like that [and i always wanted a 2 dr black comet that's what i always wished mine was]. The deal isn't definate yet but I'm leaning towards it. |
