Dave, were you trying to confirm or refute that there's something wrong with you?

lol.. here we go again. This>.. :boxing:.. is the best I can find to sum that response up.. but we seriously need a "stick poking" emoticon around here. lol

The car in this post selling for that doesn't surprise me at all when you factor in the human ego and spontanious excitement(some peoples adrenaline glands have weaker constitutions and also become "on demand" too) that goes along with auction bidding. We've all seen cars go for far more than they were actually worth because of it.

While these examples can certainly show trends to come.. it doesn't necessarily drive up all the rest right away since there are only so many buyers and resultant bidding wars. How many times have we seen lessor cars get bid up.. then later on another car even better comes across(more options/better restoration quality/etc) and the bid goes on because the buyers aren't there to start another war.

So, in that respect auctions are like playing the lottery.. some win.. and some don't. Biggest problem with major auction houses is the cost just to have them roll your car across the stage. It can be so high that many owners are pressured/forced to sell to help recoup some of the potential losses resulting from not selling it. Hands wiped.. lessons learned.. life goes on.

Well, that car could have been worth the 26.5K if it had 20K of cash hidden in the bench seat. :D
