    That's a very reasonable price.

So if a gust of wind comes along and lifts the hood some, will that unlatch the hinge and let the hood fall?

No, you still have to manually (lift the hood slightly) push the "hook/lock" back when lowering the hood, if a gust of wind does come along and lifts the hood some, when it comes back down, just locks in place again........
This updated design is much cleaner look than original "locking pin", which I have the one and only "proto type" :)

I love to see people trying to develop improvements for our vehicles.

But with the latch on the hinge, does that mean you have to be beside the hood to lower it? How has that worked out with the manual pin? I know our hoods aren't that heavy, but that looks just a bit awkward if you were by yourself. Would love to see a video with someone using this design.

With them on my Comet, I just have to be on the corner, lift the hood slightly to pull the pin (updated design, push the hook/lock back) and hood comes down, when it is fully open, not heavy at all, you then can go around to the front and close the hood as you normally do. I do not find it awkward at all! I do not know if Walt has any video's of other cars on his site, but you can check.

Walt sent me a video, but it is .mov format which this site is unable to accept, so have to figure out how to get around this..........

Stumbled upon this thread searching for some way to eliminate the prop rod. Ordered a set of hinges for our '70. Here's Mr. Federline's video on YouTube of the hinge operation.

They are out for delivery today! I already ditched the prop rod on the car in preparation. I have the hood off to do some under hood projects so I'm not ready to install them just yet but will be in the next couple of weeks. I'm planning on doing a video for our YouTube channel. I'll post on the Facebook groups also. Hope Walt has some inventory! That usually causes a sales spike. :)

Button heads. He sends a bunch of different thickness billet shims to space the hinge out from the inner fender.
