    Missing my old '70 Maverick

    I'm plagiarizing Ivy's idea ("fordman") - aluminum.

    The reason for the change is two-fold;

    1) The idea of being able to remove and install the engine and tranny as one unit appealed to me (like Ivy can do). However, I don't 'think' my particular oilpan and headers will allow it. :( I had to put them in separately this time, however, the subsequent removals and installs should go much quicker and I should learn a few speedy tricks along the way.

    2) The std size radiator is WAY too small for this particular engine. I had to go to a huge radiator when the engine was in the '90 Mustang. The only way to get it to fit the Maverick was to cut out the stock support.

    I don't think it's going to be a big-deal to fab an aluminum one up. I already have the bottom support done (1-1/2" X 1-1/2" Al angle across bottom - bolted to frame).

    Wish me luck, I'm going back in!
