So my brother has been driving around in a 1968 Buick Wildcat that he pick up a few months back and has been loving it. He has wanted to get a two door fast back style car and i pointed him towards mavericks. Well we started off the day by going and looking at a different 75. It was a car i have never seen before. It was equipped from the factory with a 250 CID and a three on the tree trans. I of course thought this was pretty cool because for a long time i was on the look out for a mav with a 250 and a manual trans. The car turned out to be a complete pile of crap. It looked a lot better in the pictures. there was a huge hole in the drivers side floor, the rust went at least 3-4 inches up the side of the car and was covered over in plastic and bondo, and the oil light on the engine would not shut off. They want $1200 for the car but it was really only a parts car and not what my brother was looking for. So we had been eyeing the 75 grabber and decided to give them a call on the car. When we got over to the car i couldn't believe my eyes. The interior is in really great shape, the 302 would fire right up and sounded amazing, it only has 85000 original miles on the odometer, and it is a one owner car. There are a few rust spots on the car and it does need some work but he could not pass it up. It is a power steering, power brakes, 302 car. When we get the car home I'll take a few photos of it and throw them up. here are a couple of photos from the online ad's. 1975 grabber 1.jpg junk 75 mav.jpg

those are obviously two different cars so which one did you get? the yellow one?
theyre both horrible looking cars but the yellow one looks like a solid starting point to a cool car

ditch the truck bumpers and the chrome down the side and youre off to a huge improvement there

way to bring your brother into the mav/comet world

yeah the yellow one was the garbage one. it has a lot of bondo and rust. the white one is the 75 grabber. it is actually in really good shape. has a little rust but over all a very solid body and it runs very well.

White looks way better, I see sport mirrors and dog dish caps. Solid foundation. Good job, now more pics.

Yeah the rust hole on the hood is kinda odd. It made me scratch my head when I saw it. The rest of the hood is solid. Now my brother will just need to join the forum.

75 Grabbers, have the lowest yearly production of all the other years you could buy a Grabber, and it's the last year for a Grabber.

we got the grabber back to my house tonight. the best part is it drove under its own power all the way home. the car had been sitting for 12 years under a car port. it had developed a leak in the gas tank so it was empty. i had a spare tank sitting in my garage so we threw it in. the master cylinder had gone bad so we picked one up and installed it in the car and then bled the brakes. after we got the car started we drove it around the block a few times then off to the gas station for a few more gallons of fuel and then drove the car home. it was a good night and the former owner of the car seem pretty happy that my brother had bought it from them.
