My dad found his mother's step father's order sheet for a 71 Maverick. He also found an owners card with the vin on it. I found it cool so I figured I'd share. 20161027_215253.jpg 20161027_215235.jpg

I still have paperwork on my 73 Ford LTD purchased 06/15/1973; from Bonnie Brook Ford, Chicago Il. for $2818.18 inc. finance charge. Interest rate was 8.86. The car had 351 W, P/S, brakes, vinyl roof, elec/win. rear defrost, AC and stero am/fm cassette.

Looks like I got a gud deal compared to the 71 Maverick $2600 compared to 2800 for larger car w/ more options.

1965_ford_fairlane_96635329933299062.jpg Don't you wish that your step Grandfather would have kept the 1965 Fairlane Sport Coupe that he got $500 for in trade!

I sure would like to be able to buy that 1965 Fairlane Sport Coup trade-in for $500. I'd even through in an extra $50 for a profit to the dealer.

He didn't trade in the fairlane, he gave it to my grandpa. It was a 289 with a 4 speed(think that's what I was told) also black. I'd like to have the fairlane as well.

I still got the paperwork when my dad bought the '60 Falcon. Only option was a $67.80 heater...he didn't buy the dome light comes on when the door is open option.

That shows you that the '70 Maverick was a pretty good value. A '60 Falcon with just a heater was $2,049 and the 'base' Maverick was $1,995 almost 10 years later.

Exactly...and the Maverick got a larger engine and synchro-1st gear transmission. Those 2 upgrades were well worth $46 in late '69. The 170 engine was a $37.40 option in '61 and the price of the heater was $5.80 more in '61.

So have you ever seen a Falcon WITHOUT a heater? I would be curious if any sold. I am sure none around here did. :D

I seen about 3 or 4 in Florida at a car show and heard about them in Hawaii.Gotta question to you...Could a person buy a new Maverick with heater delete option or would that be a special order?

I would say no considering all cars were required to have defrost by 1968.
