Anybody tried this conversion yet? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cobra-Rear-DISC-BRAKE-conversion-FORD-8-or-9_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34199QQihZ001QQitemZ110067194071QQrdZ1 Robert
That's cool! Just have to run 16" or better rims from the looks of it. Nice lead there, thanks! I am sure a few folks here might be interested. Dave
Do you have to use Cobra stuff? Or can use use GT parts,I have extras, since i converted my GT to 10!)th anniversery Cobra brakes.
dont know, just saw them while searching ebay, for just a good street option this seems to be a option for the cars that dont need a 9" rear. Ill send the guy an email and ask what is required. Robert
To bad you have to use SN95 Mustang rear calipers. They are a total PITA to put rear pads on, unless you have the right tool to screw the piston in. And my dad's '95 GT has had tons of problems with the rear brakes sticking and makeing noise. I'm still keeping it in mind though.
Blah!!!! Use the Expolrer rears. Total price maybe 350.00 to swap. Keep your factory cables with a tiny mod for the parking cable and you can run 14" steel factory rims if need be.
Robert They look like the brakets I made for my rear disc using Tbird SC calipers and toyota roters to fit under my 14" crager wheels jay
the guy sent me 1 excel and 2 word documents detailing the parts and install. If you want to see them, PM me your email address and i will forward them to you. robert
Found another set, uses cadilic calipers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REAR-DISC-BRAKES-Early-Mustang-Torino-Cougar-8-9-inch_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42605QQihZ013QQitemZ230064005767QQrdZ1 Robert
169.00 for brackets is a lot. I'm sure that even if I were to have some one offs done locally they would be less. They do look like quality pieces, but the cost is too high for a cheapskate like me.
As soon as I get my garage under control, I'm going to look into these, I have a spare 8" pushed up againt the wall.
