My buddy offered me his 1990 Lincoln Town car for 500, motor only has 60-something thousand miles on it but needs to have the tranny rebuilt. He didn't wanna bother with it so he offered it to me for the Maverick

    This outta be interesting

I'd put a transmission in that...

Be just like driving your overstuffed sofa down the highway...

    You know it
I was originally planning on keeping the I6 or switching to an in line deisel someday but I couldn't pass up such a deal

Latter on ill find a frame to put the Maverick on so I can lift it and put some decently sized tires on it

That Lincoln is looking sweet.....I would have a hard time killing it for the motor. Nice low mile motor though.

P&P is having a 1/2 price sale this week end for tool kit members. Am sooooo tempted to pull a roller 351 even though I have nothing to put it in. Hopefully the weather will be bad and I stay home.

I do kinda feel bad for the Lincoln
But I'm ripping out everything I can use for the maverick including the badges lol
The maverick is being upgraded to the ultra rare 1972/90 Ford Maverick Town Car

Actually the '90 Town Car is a one year only model with 5.0... In '91-up that body style got 4.6...

    Probably be collectable, one day..

Sorry to see the Lincoln go to the wreckers, but yes, that's the engine you want. Search roller cam engine in this Forum for the details. If you have some extra money get a set of aftermarket heads and a hotter cam. You'll still have to invest in a intake manifold, carb, headers, etc. Maybe you could part out the Lincoln's fenders, grill etc. Let us know what you decide!

The body looks clean enough .. Is the interior OK ? If so .. you may consider selling the Lincoln 'as is ' or put a tranny in it .. Sell it .. Use the$$$ to buy you a nice 5.0 or 347 for the Mav. Maybe you can pick up a good small block without getting into all that work removing the engine and tranny ..What do you have to lose ? Just a thought !

I've thought about parting out the rest of the Lincoln overtime since the rest is fairly clean
But Idk if i'd be up for that

    Like I said earlier though
I plan on taking her out into the desert mostly on dirt/rocky roads so I'll need to save up to drop the body on an actual frame and upgrade the suspension here and there
