Indyman13,Thanks for taking the time to do this and posting the results.I went thru the same thing with mine a while back.Hopefully, when you contact them, your feedback doesn't fall on deaf ears, but I have a feeling it will. This company has been selling this spoiler and plagued with this problem for years, and so far....same junk product.I'm sure they know the rarity of a mav/comet spoiler, and more than likely, their way of thinking is "either spend the money on an original,or buy our's and make it work".That's a shame too,as I'm sure that if they would take the time and improve on the product, and customer service, they would def.have a better customer following.Until that happens...I will never deal with them again.Again your effort's are greatly apprciated.:tiphat:

I have a factory one on my 73 also, fits like it was made for it.

I have a factory one on my 74. I had to drill new hole for the stud for the lower piece. The upper extensions already had the needed holes from the factory covered with putty.

I was thinking the same thing, does anyone have a picture of the 73 filler matched up to grabber extension?

This is a shot of the OEM grabber spoiler on my 73.
Fits perfect and all three of the bolts line up with the 3 holes from my original corner piece.

I'm curious to see a couple more angles from yours, including the lign up of the end pieces to the center and lower corners from the sides... maybe one from the top down like you did with the other.
This is the only one I have from three years ago. Probobly not worth looking at. BUT, it does show some lines and a little bit of the left side at the bottom the corner piece.

Blugene you really gotta finish that Comet up and get it on the road. It still looks good even in the state it's in now.:yup:

Here you go Bluegene. Mine's lining up nice all the way around. Don't have the holes drilled yet in the deck lid to mount the middle piece so can't show that alignment.

That's a 3 year old pic. Of course not much has changed.
Thanks. Yes, I see that it lignes up just like mine.
Do you know where to make the holes and what size? I seem to recall that when I made mine it would been better if I hadn't drilled then center of the edge, but it's been a loooong time ago. I do remember something took place tho...:scratchchin:

That's a nice picture and it's hard to see the piece we are talking about. At the bottom of the fender extension the 70-72 has a small die cast filler. The 73 has a larger plastic piece. Would you need to trim out as much using the 70-72 die cast piece?

I got back out there and took a couple of shots of my setup. Remember, mines a 73 so the back end is different that those up to 72 (I think).

1st shot is the stock setup on my 73. You can see the corner piece below the piece I'm replacing with the OEM grabber part. Second picture is the same shot showing how the flaired spoiler corner matches up with the lower piece. It fits nice and tight unlike the photo shows because I did not have it bolted down at all.

The third shot shows the small piece that I think was used up to 72. I don't know if I'm holding it upside down or have the wrong side but it won't be used on my project because I'm sticking with the stock back end so they'll be in my collection of unused parts that I'll clear out some day.

That's an angle I was waiting to see. Looks good. Waiting on the center section to corner shots, looking from above or top angle.

I'll be drilling the holes in the deck lid in the next few days and will have the shots of how the center section lines up.

I still wonder exactly where the holes should be to be like factory.

Hey Bluegene--------I found this photo in the gallery. I think the factory holes are actually square as shown in this guy's photo. I remember seeing another shot of a decklid on craigslist that showed square holes as well.

    http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/showimage.php?i=2845&catid=searchresults&searchid=7108

I'm just planning on just getting the spoiler centered on the decklid and marking where the studs are with a marker on the very edge of where it turns down. I plan on using a step drill bit right in the center of the the "tip" of the deck lid and making it just slightly larger than the round tabs underneath the middle spoiler section so I'll have a little play to work with. I plan on sealing it with some silicone or something similar.
