late model ford being?? 90's on up?? 90/91 ford taurus alternator is the one to use with the diagram that andy provided...i think the 80 amp will be sufficient.....thats 30 more amps than mine is at i think....since my car was a 170... and i didnt change the alternator... i also have a feeling that the higher output in amperage will also increase the fire in the MSD system, giving me more power....or shall i say...more eficiency in the ignition system....when my lights are on or my foot is on the brake pedal my alt gauge dances around like a ballerina... ok i went to checker online....91 ford taurus i think... 100 amp alternator...89.99 http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=AGA&mfrpartnumber=7742&parttype=11&ptset=A check it out and tell me if this is correct
Here it is. I used the factory plug from the car and wired it up to my wiring on the truck But you can use spade connectors or something The one that was posted from the parts store up there should work Looks like it got 2 studs... one postive and one switched source Also anyone know how to run 2 alternators into one regulator? Im thinking about running 2 alternators on a lawnmower I have. Running that for a battery charger/gas go-getter/pit ride at the dragstrip
