    I agree 100%

Yep I call BS on the rat inhabited 302, notice they didn't detail anything of building of the motor to run those dual carbs? and I'm not a performance engine builder but I know you can't slap 2 decently sized 2 barrels let alone 4 barrels on a stock 302 and gain any real performance ... more than likely flood it. Horns was another death trap increase to add to the drum drum stock suspension which undoubtedly wasn't upgraded either. I also call BS on those guys Actually having 27k when that's probably the best that thrown together 70's puke machine would be worth to a fool with just too much money. I understand they were doing the whole 1970 vibe "disco" like era but I'll stick to my rusty Medium Metallic Brown non existent funds project before I'd let anyone like those idiots "build" me a car

It's sad that the only shows that feature Mavericks end up butchering them, or in the case of Gas Monkey, they just flipped a Maverick (the green '74-'77) without even touching it. Rollins turned his nose up at it.

Imagine if they'd done a Maverick on Overhaulin' or Bitchin' Rides, or Fantom Works.

Now I'm Not a Mustang fanboy or a Ford purist primarily but Richard Rawlings did basically the same thing once with a '72 Mustang Grande or Mach 1 Fast back body style? I mean he put a little work into it but talked about how it was so uncool ... unless you're some young high school kid or the like. I think it was this [IMG]

I know fanatics aren't crazy about the big body cars like this but at least it's not a Pinto with a 302 calling it's self King Cobra. Now if the Maverick had been a grabber or maybe something slightly built already they might would have but you gotta think how hard it would be for them to BS with parts and budget to make it "cool" like a lot of guys here have... not like a Crown Vic 4.6 disc setup just bolts/welds in like the ford truck they did etc. Another reason to call BS on the Maverick those guys did because Niiicer cars with strokers and suspension didn't fetch that easily. Also notice no money was exchanged nor did they even test drive it on Big Easy Motors :biglaugh: If I'm Seriously capable of buying your 27k car as a new owner BETTER BELIEVE I'M DRIVING IT LIKE I STOLE IT and the cops are sitting at the doughnut shop !!!

Yeh I like the auction that just started out of the blue at a car show. And I don't think any dot inspection would let the horns go,it's a death sentence in a accident ,just what you want is horns going into you and killing you in a crash.

It's kind of like "why would you buy a cow if you don't know if the milk is any good or worth what you're going to pay for it" You Will Always Pay for It .... Some How Some Where :biglaugh:

I was at a auction in new orleans last year went they brought that 70 style dart to sell. When it came up they told everyone to bid high that it was for a TV show it was not for sale. It was for TV show only. It looked like a peice of junk & they call that custom my ass.

They need to get the guys from Fat and Furious, Big Easy Motors,Fired Up Garage,Gas Monkey Garage, and Road Kill to have a build competition. My money would be on Road Kill at least they use junk to make junk although some of their builds are cool but they are not into televised scripted crap.

Even though all the shows are scripted what else would we watch that provides us with something to laugh about in the automotive world and you cant say that you didnt learn something from them even if it is wrong
