I dont believe so. But hey be a pioneer and be the first. I havent heard of anybody putting a modular supercharger on a 302. I could be wrong look into it more.
If I had it to do over again (without knowing what it took to overcome the electrical demons), I'd stick with a carb - especially if you're a novice mechanic. You'll have your car running a lot sooner and with a lot less headache sand a few more dollars in your wallet. (from the department) Good luck.
Get EFI and turbo it, and use your computer to run the computers or the Y band if you get one or get a Carb system turbo and slap a BorgWarner 75 Milimeter Turbo and run 25 lbs of boost all day long.
ok, what does it mean to run the 35 lbs of boost all the time, as in would i be getting boost at idle? and what are all the pros and cons of the efi? and could i get some prefered brands so i can look up prices?
Ok. 25 PSI all day means when you boost. like most turbos reach full boost at around 3 1/2 thousand rpms. it can boost 25 pounds easily. That might be a little hard on your block and internals. you dont get boost at an idle. the turbo might spool alittle but no pressure is built The EFI can be run through a computer that will adjust the F/A ratio at different RPMs. The carb will only let you run at 2 settings idle and boost. This is mainly for drag racing tho. So it will either run lean or rich. I watched a guy split his block trying to show off in a parking lot because he didnt have his settings tuned correctly. I would recomend the EFI. Get a good tune on it, and a blow through set up with an Inter Cooler, and a greddy Bov, with a y band, and boost controller. Brands to look at would be Greddy, TuroNetics, HKS, Apex, you dont have to get all one brand tho you could mix a custom manifold and piping with a commings tubo, a supra 650CFM I/C, and a Standard Y band and a tune and that would work perfect for you Here http://www.turboneticsinc.com/products/index.php For piping you can have an exhaust shop make you down pipes, manifolds, intake pipes, brackets...ext.
well i think im gonna just stick to buildin my motor carberated until i get the money to buy a new supercharger to put on there. what about the innercooler, would one still help even without the charger
Anyone have the measurements for a mod motor & a 302 too compare? Will a new hood & cut out shock towers help a mod motor fit?
i dont know much about it but im sure anything will help. i've seen where it has been done and the guy i was gonna get the supercharger from's cousin is putin the 360 stroker 01' roush/svt motor in a 64 1/2 mustang
Here is a thought GET THAT ROUSH MOTOR AND SLAP IT IN THE MAV, then call it good The intercooler woulnt do much with out a supercharger or Turbo.
Here is the Kenny Bell web site I beleave that is a 5.0 on this list. Kenny Bell started with the 5.0 before the Mod motor was out........you may not be old enough to remember http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/supercharger-selector.htm
When I hear KenneBell, I still think of Buicks, they were the ones for Buick performance parts years ago.
Well i remember looking on the kennebell web site and they didnt have that Good find. Well Theres a quality supercharger for ya And yeah im only 18 but im always reading and looking for new info and ALWAYS ready to tear apart somthing and build it better.
