Paint, there isn't anything below your sig in this post. Did you post from a cell phone? If so, often it posts without the stuff at the bottom.

The mav is gone but i'm still here!

It's showing up for me,I think he's refering to his side exit pipes. But like you've mentioned before you cant run those because of your cal-tracs.

Oh, those. Yes, I liked them when I had them.

But actually, I got a very slight drone from them at times. I don't remember if they were 18" or 24" glasspacks, but I DO remember that they actually touched the floorpan in a couple places, which may have done it. It was a MUCH quieter drone than what I have now.

Scott... Put tail pipes on it...They will move the sound out past the car so it cant reverberate off the ground back at the car. This will kill your drone... :yup:

    I CAN'T!!!

I am still trying to figure out how to come out in front of the tires.

I refuse to go over the axle.

Cal-Tracs and subframe connectors make side exits very difficult.

looking at various types of NASCAR type tips that might slip through that small space.

Have you considered an AAR Cuda type exhaust setup??? May be what you need to get the job done...

I need to figure out something that will fit through here...

By the way, that rusty chunk is a piss-poor installer's version of hanging side pipes.

I am not quite sure how much that Caltrac setup moves, so I need to be careful how much space i leave between it and the exhaust pipe for travel. i have been looking at flattened oval tubing that may fit in there, but it is way expensive and still not sure if the cal-tracs will hit it on launches.

Look at AAR Cuda setups...The tail pipes exit in front of the rear tire like you want.
They loop around the front spring eye to clear it. May clear your cal tracs...

But in front of my Caltracs is the subframe connector, which sits pretty low also.

I was thinking of just getting the pipe to turn 90 degrees out toward the caltracs, and stopping just inside of them, then then trying to find a flat exhaust tip that might hug the frame and clear the caltracs, or just leave it facing outward without a tip.

Pretty much...Yeah. The subframe connectors Scotts useing may be a problem though.

I LOVED the sidepipes! But the bend from the headers back toward the front would have been a killer and very restrictive. It could be done, I guess.

If I do anything, it will be swap out the flowmasters for magnaflows or glasspacks and continue the dumps. Or possibly try to find some tips that may sandwhich down flat enough to get between the frame and Caltracs. Maybe even if I have to cut away or bend up some of that pinched and tack-welded flap that hangs off the bottom.

Didn't you drive it with 1/2 of your exhaust system capped off? It seemed OK then, didn't it? Go for the side pipes!

Get some 3" or larger pipe and squeeze one end almost flat in a vice.
