no difference in the driveshaft as long as your original is a C4 auto not manual. the 4dr is longer for the increased wheelbase. as stated before, you are definitely better of with a donor car for all the little small parts that are different. ie: the steel pads that the motor mounts sit on, throttle linkage, etc. also the factory floor shift cars have a bolt in hump that locates the shifter housing to the floor. you may have to fabricate a mount for the shifter you choose especially if you use a rod linkage. cable might be easier because the location of the shifter isn't as critical.

is your 74 donor a disc brake car and is your 73 5 lug wheels?

If both cars are disc brake, you still might want to swap the 74s spindles on there. 73 disc brakes are a smaller size IIRC.

If that 73 is drums all around, you will feel the need for discs as soon as you start driving it. The faster the car gets, the scarier drum brakes are... ;)

If the donor has disc brakes and yours is 5lug then swap spindles and get a NEW master cyl for a 74 with manual brakes, swap the proportioning valve and do the disc brake conversion at the same time. it will save you a lot of headache later. 74 was optional as far as the disc go but were all manual brakes until 75 when power was an option. since yours is 5 lug, you already have the heavier suspension parts. Most 250's did.

don't forget the V8 brace that goes behind the lower control arm mounts from frame rail to frame rail. It does make a difference.
