    you have a nice big engine now, and slicks, might as well get the rear end done up right, its only a matter of time before you will need a new rear end.. lol

    Cut your 8" axle tubes off and mount them on the center of the 9" housing.
    Then scare up a 28 spline chunk, pop in your 8" axles, and bolt it up.
