Yeah, don't feel bad about sniping. I can't tell you how many times I've lost items at the last two or three seconds on e-bay. I guess though that in the end I didn't want to pay any more for it, it just sucks to see that I lost it over $1 or sometimes less. But ultimately you don't know, the other bidder may have put in a bid $50 over yours just to be sure that they got it. Anyhow congrats and have fun with it!

that gas cap don't look too bad except for the center, and it don't seem like it'd be that hard to clean up. I got 2 for 5 bucks each at Pettit Jean in ok shape and thought that was a good deal. one has some dents, so I'm seeing about taking it apart and seeing how they're made. Maybe I can fix it up nice.

For all you snipers out there

download this little program it is put out by ebay it is still listed as a beta because they are not going to make it popular but it has been out for about a year and a half. It gives you a real time countdown of everything you are watching and you can set it up so you have a one button bid, (IE it bids just above the highest bid and you don't have to do all the conformation). I felt a litttle guilty the first time I tried it, so I didn't use it. Then I got sniped for $1.50 a couple days later on an edelbrock intake and that made me turn the other cheek :thumbs2:

I wasn't going to say anything at first, but it's cocktail hour:cheers: ... there are automated sniping programs out there that you can use to stab an auction at the last possible second.

I have never used one ... I get so much more joy out of doing it myself with the help of the giant RF clock I have on the wall that is synched to the atomic clock in Denver.

Might have to get that program to countdown the seconds, though ... it would keep me from having to do the math. :D

I got it in the mail yesterday. It is in good shape. Where the auction says there was a tab broken off is just a crack on the bottom that someone had epoxied. It was near a screw hole that is raised and I guess they thought that had broke off. Either way, it looks great. I need to touch up the paint on the lid and clean it up. It should be like new then. I'm a happy camper, and I really like the way it fits. Now back to body work!
