Insurance (other than liability)

    More Insurance for my trip

    Gonna leave Richmond (va) sat 10/3 head on down to nagshead (nc) take the ferry over to ocaroke stay the night get up in the morning and take another ferry ride(2.5 hrs) over to ceder island then have 10 days to just head up the coast of nc,sc,georgia and depending on our time fla...wife and I are just gonna drive when we want and when we want to stop and explore we do that. Will have to come back on boring 95n ...but have all the confidence in the world in my 77 mav (could still use a few prayers for a safe trip though)

    Yes, I agree - Hagerty is the way to go. I also insure my cars with them. They were willing to write $3500 a couple of years ago on a '77 I was working on. I'm not sure what the minimum is now though.

    insurance is definately not just about how much you save despite everything the commercials say. when someone rearends you or backs into your car in a parking lot, then your insurance tries to not pay and says its your fault how much did you really save now that your out the complete cost of your vehicle. when you need legal help and have to pay for it all out of pocket, so that all the money from the case goes to your lawyer and you still have to pay your own medical bills and fix or replace your own car what did you really save? i have gone the cheap way to be legal and regretted it every time, however the most expensive isnt always better as i can tell stories on the "top end" insurance treating their people just as bad. customer ratings on how much the insurance was there for them is what really tells you a good insurance company.
