I think Im just going to break down and buy the borgeson box and have some lines made up. Ive sold a few parts from the massive piles of parts I have so I can see an upgrade coming in the future.

I like the idea of being in really cheap with the rack since the cost is the only hold up for me with the morgeson BUT if Im going to do any further steering repairs its going to be a setup Ill almost never have to mess with again. no worn out parts or seals and no leaks in a year or two.
I would very much like a shorter turning radius as mine seems to take a country mile to turn around. well my black comet does anyway the white gt this is for seems to turn really short. the black comet has comet spindles for the disk brakes and manual steering so I cant understand why one turns shorter than the other oh and theyre both the same year 72

if the box is as nice as every says Ill end up getting a second one maybe even a third so both my cmets and my boys maverick can have one

so today one of the guys at the autocross that races a 69 mustang showed me his newest mod. its a bump steer correction kit that also moves the mount point further in towards the spindle as 55crownvic mentions. heres the kit that i saw http://www.drgas.com/Ford-Bump-Steer-Corrector-Kit_p_19.html
its pricy but if you do the diy rack and pinion then you still should have spent less than the borgenson conversion. i think i have some options to consider!

Manual boxes are 21:1 ratio while P/S boxes are somewhere around 15 or 16:1...

    Hi Bryant:
The "crimper" we have is an Industrial MASTERCOOL,Inc. 71500 Hydra-Crimp with Seven different die sizes
in a nice carrying case. I think we got it from Eastwood .. not sure ... could have been Summit . Hope this helps.
Its a great tool .. we use it often ..

Per the Borgeson site, its a 14:1 steering ratio. another option is ABS which is what Mike Maier uses. It too is 14:1. I cant find a price for the box itself but I read somewhere its a little more that the Borgeson.
