Is this wire safe? Do I need the link?

    the link it self is about 4 inches. i assume he cut the 4"s out of the wire section after the link, but you are correct that if he did cut the link its now worthless as now it wont provide the protection

    I cut four FEET out of the middle of the wire. Not out of the link.

    If you route all that wire behind the engine along the firewall, you end up with a LOT of extra wire...
