That is my problem, hard to find. Was looking to see if someone knew of a secret stash. I know of a few clear ones. Tinted are tough to find. That was why I initially went with the salvage one. Micah
What about a place that does auto glass? I had a shop install a new front glass/windshield in my car last month and it has more tint than the OE it replaced. The OE was tinted, my car has AC and all glass is tinted. I am going to have the rear glass tinted by a tint shop; I want it darker to keep the sun frm fading my interior. I have not done any research on rear windshields so don't know what the deal on getting one.
Rear Windshield Hello Mavrick: Years ago I tried to find a NEW rear windshield and was advised that only the FRONT windshield is available .. No one makes the Rear Windshield , or Side Door Glasses , or the Rear Glasses that I know of. I've tried several glass companies all with the same info. I save ALL the glass on any car I part out and I'm sure you can find a Rear Windshield out there that can be cleaned up ..maybe not "tinted" . I wish you success on your hunt. Cometized ( Chip )
Chip, Thanks for the post. I managed to get a new front and tinted driver side from Pilkington. They actually made the driver but not the passenger side. The windshield was from FINLAND. I found a NOS passenger side. Vent glass is from the same car as the rear I installed. There are a few ice scraper scratches too but nothing near to the condition of the back and you really never look at or out of them. I think I may have found a NOS tinted rear for $300. I'm just waiting for confirmation. I found multiple NOS clear ones. My car had clear glass and I wanted to change everything over. They had their share of scratches too. I wanted some protection from the sun but I did not want to deal with window tint film again. Micah
Score, found one for $300. Still in the sealed Carlite box. It is in CA but I just happen to be going to that town next week. So, no shipping charges! Micah
