    Car Shows

:HandshakeI havent entered mine I'd be upset for my baby if it at least didnt get mentioned. A lot of people and my co-workers have told me to do so. I finaly drove it to a local car show here at Hill AFB, Utah even parked in an empty spot next to the entrants, Colonel Medler saw it and asked why I didnt enter my car. I told her it wasnt ready but the truth is I think I'd cry if it didnt get mentioned for any reason, I could care less about winning I love my Mav's and Comets.

Hey I have been to that show a few times....of course I havent been down in about 5 years or so... This is one of the few shows you will see alot of different styles of cars due to the diversity of the airmen. A few years back my brother took his BMW down(he had the car figuring it would get him girls...it did and all they wanted was him to spend money on them) and entered it didn't get anything special but he did it....

Hey 71Gold Patches reminds me of my mom's old yellow 72 Comet (In name only) it had carb problems at the time and would sputter and stall my litle brother later fixed it. I think it's funny and cool someone else can joke around on naming their car.

there used to be a thread around here about what everyone calls their car...

i call my blue '71 the "Smurf" (blue w/ white top)
the '72 is the "Frog" (because it was originally bright lime)
my '73 4dr is "The 4dr" or my wife calls it "The Beast" or the "Green Machine"
my '73 Grabber is "MY Grabber" (because it's the one im building for me :D)
the '77 i used to have was named "Stallion" because of the factory black paint
the '75 4dr i had was named "Gitty Up" cause it was always ready to go
the '71 i built was named "Ole Red" (just for the color really)
the '74 parts car was named the "Soup Bean" cause it's brown w/ tan interior
and i call '73-'74 orange Grabbers "creamsicles" or "popsicles"

I have a very complex system of naming my cars. I refer to them as follows:

The 69.5 (my grandpa calls it baby s#!t brown)
    The 72 Grabber
    The 72 beater
    The 73 2 door
    The 73 4 door
The 73 4 door parts car
    The 74 Grabber
    The 76 shell
    The 76 rust bucket
    The Fiat
    The Capri
    The Sentra

My dad's Mustang... The Ruststain (there is no rust on the car, just a joke)
My mom's Lincoln LS... either The Hotrod Lincoln or The Stinkin' Lincoln. Depends on the day.

And of course all of the above have probably been called Piece of S#!t a time or two.

i tried Jamie's system but kept running into the same body/year cars and it got a little confusing between my brother and me :slap:

The only vehicles of mine that ever got names besides stuff like "The Dodge" or "The Maverick" were the Devil Truck - (stout SBC in an Olds Bravada, born on Halloween and possessed by the devil) and the Kidnapper Van. (Because it looked like something the cops would find abandoned and full of puppies and candy and half-starved naked chicks chained up in the back.)
