No prob. Just trying to ease your tensions is all. Yeah, I don;t know what I'm doing either which is why I invested on the Chilton manual which has been great. I find myself reading it all the time now. I'm going to take things easy with the car. first thing I will do is change the shocks(tried to do it this weekend but couldn't.)

Like you, I recently graduated and got my Mav as a gift to myself and I don;t plan on quitting on it. always fun having a new hobby knowumsaying?

But anyways, like I said just take it to a mechanic or somewhere you can trust they will do a thorough inspection of it. Just to make sure nothing will give you probs. I would also carry a tool kit just in case.

BTW, are you driving back and forth or is this a one time only trip with the Comet?

and yeah, a NY roundup lol

Oops my bad. Terrible that I didnt even think this may be a female driving this car. My 3 daughters wouldnt be impressed. That puts a whole new spin on it doesnt it. Make sure all your fluids are up and check those tire pressures. Check wiper blades, lights and charge your cell phone. Lock your doors and dont open the window to strangers if the car has issues. OK now my daughters would be rolling there eyes at me.
You'll be fine just take your time let someone know when you are leaving and the route you are taking. I trust my old Mav over a lot of the new cars. Thats coming from a guy who fixes new cars everyday. Have a safe trip. Its sickening isnt it how my attitude changed from thinking it was a guy.

Modifications not "moderations". If your going to learn about cars we'd better get your terminology straight.:)

Yep I am def taking it to a mechanic on thursday. I will see what they say and take it from there. And this is my first trip but I will be making a couple without a doubt. I have 3 roundtrips planned so far between now and the end of May.

NY roundup sounds great....just hit me up
