Yup, that sight (HotRodGossip) is definetly NOT for the sensitive type.

You can make a simple statement and be beat down (verbally) by any number of yahoo's.

It's difficult to do, but simply ignoring some of those a-hole's post is the best way to deal with 'em (in my opinion).

Talk about a "Tough Crowd!" Jeez!

    ------------
Ivey, I got the names of the photographer mixed up with the (part-time) announcer at HRP. Wes Strom is the photographer and Scott Singleton announces at HRP.

    Sorry I missed you, Ivy.

We had a good time but left early. It was getting very cold and windy.

A buddy of mine traded a pro-mod motor for a Turnkey '84 Mustang 393 day before yesterday and he ran it there yesterday (it was the light-blue 4-eye'd Mustang).

Right off the trailer, it nearly dragged the bumper and ran a 6.24 @ 108 (1.35 60') and went straight as an arrow. We didn't get much better over the next two runs (then got a flat slick). The best of the three passes was a 6.21 @ 110. The car has more in it - it's just a matter of finding it.

Needless to say, the guy who owns it now couldn't wipe the grin off his face. :D

I also heard the yellow "Strictly Performance" (edited) Mustang wiped out at the finish line.

I'll have to go over to Hotrodgossip to read the talk on that - and to be entertained by all the loser's excuses.

Hopefully you'll have your Maverick there next time and you'll be easier to spot.

I see on HRG where they're giving Larry (Mazdilla) props for stopping and giving aid to the other driver.

I saw that little Ford Powered Mazda run - surprised heck outta me (and a lot of his opponents I'm sure).

Please let me know when you're gonna run the Maverick at HMP. I'll make certain I'm there to root you on.

may have to go to a trans brake he is a little slow on the pro light but he did run a 6.30 he ran a 6.50 when he ran chip on the call out. The car has some more in it but cant keep the nose down. Last run 60 ft was on the back tires had to short shift to to get it down but every thing in his class is a big block so he does good for a sb 408 ford. We will be in baytown this year for points and the new index class race that Scott going to have are you going to run. We will go back to HMP if they run anything bracket

I probably won't have my car running for that event - even though that was my latest goal. I took a job in Bryan, TX and am worn out when I get in from that 170/day mile commute. I'm considering renting a room up there during the week and coming back 'home' on weekends.

Looks like I'll have to pay some shop to do the final connections on the EECIV before it cranks. Also, I am saving up for some QA-1 Shocks ($360+ for a set). All else is ready!

I'll try to make it to Baytown to Scott's first Index race as a spectator anyway.
