Also, on JEGS, I see several different 300+ wires. Which ones should I look at?

get the ones for http://www.jegs.com/i/Accel/110/7054/10002/-1 these are the ones i use. i have male terminals on my dist cap. they will come with a coil wire for a male post on the coil. if yours is female there severl different ways you can change it. theres an adaptor that goes into the coil that put a male post on it. you can change the end on the coil wire, or you can run a different coil wire (thats what im doing till i change my coil).

Just curious, does it miss under a load? Like when you are on it?

Actually, I don't notice it then. I notice it more when I am cruising at, lets say 60 mph. I can hear it miss most then. At a mid-range rpm, holding steady.

    Sorta WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-d-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-d-d-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..

It should take you about 5-6 seconds to read the previous sentence.

I probably need new wires anyways, so I will get some this weekend and see what happens.

It seems like most of you are leaning toward "faulty wires" as the issue here. If it still misses, I at least have those out of the way.

    Update.

Dark enough to close the garage half way and make it dark. Sprayed the wires down with water, and took the air cleaner off.

No visible sparks, and no dripping in the carb at the venturis.

Still planning on starting with new wires this week and see what happens.

My previous 302 in my stallion would do the same thing. But under load it would NEVER miss. Lots of speculation as to what it was, and I tried everything under the sun to find what it was. Went away when I had the motor built into what it is today. And by the way, still running the same set of wires that was on the old build of the motor, some 17 + years later. But I do suspect your plug wires. Interesting thread.

Well, this motor only has about 50 or so miles on it. So I doubt it is worn out YET!!!

I too am leaning toward a wire issue.

All the other electronics are new, within a couple hundred miles, except for the wires.
