Those are right up there with vega headers. Crazy stuff. He must be one dedicated guy. Good for him. I would have took the easy route with a small block.

Theres so much you can do with a small block nowadays,I wouldnt even bother with that big ol boat anchor. Like I said though as long as he is happy.

Is that what you would call 360 degree headers? Or are they just fitment solving headers? I have heard that 360 degree headers have a different sound from standard 180 degree headers. I always thought they look cool, whats it sound like?

After they built the front 6 tubes to be able to fit around the stock suspension, there just isn't any room left for the back 2 tubes to be able to come forward enough to sweep back into the collectors on their respective sides. They just simply crossed the back tubes under the back of the oil pan and into the opposite collectors.

Been there and done that too!;)
I have a set on a 350 Chevy Monza right now. (First put them on in 79!)
The header bolts are easier to get to on the GM, but the tube installation in general is much easier on the Cleveland.

    WOW!
    That's pretty brutal.:naughty:

I never thought I'd live to hear someone call a 351c a "boat anchor"!

Is his combo set up and running decent, or have you never ridden in the car?!? A 351c is FAR from a boat anchor. You will spend some big bux on a 302 to get it to keep up with just a 'nice' 351c. A buddy put a nearly stock M-code 351c in his 67 coupe and was banned from the strip for running 11.00 seconds without ANY safety gear his first time out. I think he was more surprised than anyone... Headers, Holley, and WR Toploader was pretty much the entire combo. M-code voodoo!

Its running good he just needs some good gears, its basically a 4V Cleveland rebuilt with some mild porting done to the heads and intake.Everybody has their own taste,me myself I like 302 roller blocks. I respect him for doing that build because that engine doesnt just drop right in it took some mods and he did it,thats what he wanted and hes happy,if hes happy im happy for him.Ill tell you one thing hes the only one around our area with CLEVELAND Comet, even more rare its a 5 speed. Their gonna love that thing at the car shows! My other cousins 70 Maverick too, with the 351W 5-speed.I feel better now cuz everybody else in our family and friends are Chevy guys,so im not the only Ford man in the click now:rofl2:

Same tail lights that are on a 67 Shelby.
He can get repop Shelby bezels to go around the perimeter of the lights and give it a 'clean' look, without all the extra frills of the Cougar bezels.
