the plan is to cut the motor mount stands loose from the frame and move them forward 1/2" and down 1/2". then I can run a 1/2" taller breather element...

 

Have you looked in Speedway to see what kind of air cleaners that are available for stock car racing? We used a tall K & N air cleaner years ago that draped down lower over the carb down towards the intake manifold so a stock hood could close. Maybe something might work instead of cutting the stands off.

 

thanks... but that's where I'm at now...drop base with 2" element. even with that I had to get the Atomic EFI to get a fuel delivery system that was low enough.
I've been through most of the options out there... from $39-$500 breather systems.

 

This is why i went with this...







I have cut off that tall stud in the air cleaner.

So have you been driving without a hood for the past several months since you did the swap?

 

Frank has a whole fleet of different hoods - I'm sure one of them fit

 

with the Atomic EFI having no choke horn I could get the Grabber hood on...
