Torker 289 beats Victor series intakes on the street and RPM series intakes on the track. The only reason Edelbrock stopped making the Torker 289 was that it was expensive to make, not because the new designs were better. It was about the money, not performance. I have never run one of the Victor intakes, but have done a swap directly from a running 302 with a T-289 to an RPM... It sucked really bad and when I tried everything to get that advertised extra boost on bottom and keep the same top end, I swapped the T289 back on. The RPM never had more bottom end, and I could never get it to match higher rpm quickness either, even with my last try of a 2" open spacer... The whole "dual planes are better, and RPM series is even better" speil is all about advertising. If you try it, you know better.
