Well guys, problem solved. I purchased a 180 Bosch thermostat to replace the 160 Stant. Stays at around 170ish. A $5 fix. Will never use Stant again. What's the odds of getting 2 new thermostats and both malfunctioning ? Thanks for all your input. I tried them all.

Well the overheating issue is solved as long as it's sitting and idling. It's a different story when on the road. The temp keeps rising the longer I drive. It climbs to 210+ and I pull over and let it cool down. I haven't pushed it past the 210 mark. Gun shy, I suppose. It seems the rpms are too high for the highway. Could that be a reason for the extra high temp? I'm checking the gear ratio this morning.

High rpms will do it. What water pump do you have on it ? Might need a high volume pump.

Unless it is puking water all over, it is not overheating.

Even if it was puking water out, it could still not be overheating. As in a bad radiator cap that won't hold the pressure it's rated for. All that said, 210* is not overheating, it's pretty normal for a car driven in Florida. As long as you have a good ratio of coolant to water and the radiator cap is holding the pressure it's supposed to, 210 is a good bit under the boiling temps for a 50/50 mix at less than 16 lbs pressure. (that's what I recall he said the cap was rated for)
