Nice placeI figured I was the only one on the Board who had to pull Tobacco as a kid. I decided to just wait on the ins. until I finish this . Gonna pour the cement on thursday. Wanna Help? :D I got a qoute from a local ins. co for 119 a yr for 15000 . if its in a garage. Been planning on building it anyway.

You did one hell of a job Seth, should be proud of yourself. I know it's been a long road and a lot of work, but I bet it's easily all worth it now. What does your wife think about it now that it's all done?

Bring it to Ford Carlisle, then Tim's Va motor sports weekend, then to the Roundup. Sheese, you cant build a car like that and not come. The rules state if you dont come to our car shows, you have to sell it to me so I can bring it and show it off. But first, I'd have to paint it blue and I know you dont want that to happen, so I guess you better show up. :D

Man. These Yankees trying to speak Southern. ;) Next they'll try to claim cheese grits and fried catfish is a New York dish.:smash:

It's Y'all, not ya'll. Tobacco is pronounced t'back-her. Some old timers called it 'backy or t'backy. Mostly folks who grew it, called it money. I spent more than a couple of days in the tobacco barns of south Georgia during buying time. Hot, hot days.

    ?'s

    DM-
Yes, I did my time in the fields. It ran in the family. Now I have no more farming relatives here in NC.

    Craig-
Yes, they are the factory 14 x 6 slots. I have one somewhere that I can't find at the moment to mount my spare on. The tires are 70's, I can't remember the exact size but they are a little bigger in the back. They were as large as the tire dealer recommended for a 6 inch wide wheel.

    Dennis-
I offered to sell it to you last year when I was too busy working and you were sitting in your garage trying to think of things to do to your already completed and sharp Sprint. Perhaps you didn't like the guaranteed buy back clause before you drove it!

I really want to make the roundup next year as well as some other shows.

As far as Cristina is concerned, she is warming up to it. Surprisingly, I got on it a bit harder than even I wanted too this past Sat. nite on the way home from a Cruz-in and she didn't bat an eye.
She wanted to go to Henderson with me this past Sat, but had to work.

Tim, you did miss a heck of a show. 600 plus cars. 2 Mavericks with 427 SOHC engines. One was the blue/white '74 Grabber that I saw in a magazine a while back. It had FL tags. The other was the Dyno Don Maverick that we saw in Carlisle 2 yrs. ago. I was not barricaded like the all Ford Nat's, and I was able to get a good close look at it. That car really needs to be restored IMO. It is in pretty rough shape, paint, etc.

I was only going to leave it with you long enough for you to finish it!

Yeah, I am glad I kept it for nearly 21 yrs.

I am having to keep my wits about me to keep from doing something that
I shouldn't. The guy who owns a car that mine went to high school with
20 yrs. ago offered me that car last week.
He dropped his price $1,500. Black '72 GT with mint black bucket interior.
It should have silver stripes. It has spent many days as a street or bracket
racer but is essentially stock and very streetable. It is an original 80Kmile +/-
car with no rust that I can find, repainted once that I know of.

Cristina would kill me. She told me to buy it only if I could resell it and make money.
I don't want to buy it and have to sell it. I always liked that car and that color combo.
I could make it real nice in about 10 days-cleaning and stripes.

    Seth
