That was a long post but i agree with mostly all that was listed. My Comet would mostly not be something that going by some of these points, would ever be given an award. It is far far far from being perfect and since i have changed the Comet front to a Maverick front it is no longer even stock. I still bring it to the shows even if it's a bit odd as i want to see at least a Maverick or Comet at these shows. In time i may be able to restore it better than it looks now but that takes coin which alot of us are in short supply of these days. So with all this in mind even if some of our cars may not be perfect at least we are there and trying, give us, them, me a little slack.;)
    Just my thoughts.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
i agree with you. i mean i have brought my stock maverick to some show not expecting anything just becuase well its a 15 footer with original 75 paint! but i just take it to represent you know. ;) other shows like our all ford show at knotts i just go to be with fellow maverick guys period. just like one year maybe... (maybe never... lol) i would like to go to the round up with my car. Just to represent.

heck if i was at a show and i saw a maverick i would just go talk with him no matter what just becuase well its a maverick... lol!

off topic.... oh and i like your valve covers i just noticed them! ;) though i think ford might send you a letter about that logo on them. lol!

Hey Maverick Man, in the end it's all good, and we all know that weather your loaded or just a regular guy, to want to restore a Maverick or Comet is truly a bit of work and not a, " Bought the whole thing on my credit card, PIECE BY PIECE", sort of thing.:yup::rofl:

If the owner of the car is nearby, the first thing I look for is if he is a full of himself/my car is the best jerk. I have no use for people like that, and there are lots of them at car shows.I appreciate all cars and the work involved in fixing them up. One that is driven will usually get more attention from me than a trailer queen.

Derrick, I bought the valve covers from a guy who has a LARGE ebay store who carries alot of Ford Racing stuff...He said the covers are a One of a kind set that were made as prototypes for the Ford racing catalogue...then Ford racing decided not to carry them.

I do not attend car shows often. I maybe go to 3 or so a year. I plan on showing my car the first year it is completed. Past that I will be road racing it and enjoying the way I know how....DRIVING!!!!

I hate trailer queens(true ones) that never even get started.....
I like Originals to restomods to full out radical one offs.....
I am a muscle car fan the most.
I do not look at many chevys....
I like Fords,Mercs,Lincolns, and MOpar stuff
I do like the long dead brand names.....

I hate the know it all morons that seem to be like Zombies from George Romero flick.....They say the same things over and over to everybody....and chase after you once you leave to tell even more worthless info.....

Stance and something different attracts me at first. It has to be clean and simple. Nice high quality paint job that is not too busy, the panels must line up and it must show a great attention to detail!!! I like a plain and simple car over a car that looks like it raided Pep Boys anyday.
