i am friends with the manager at a local maaco shop and he is doing the paint in his booth. i did the initial prep work he is doing the final prep, wet sand , paint, pinstripe, clearcoat, and final wet sand. he has done several other older cars that i have seen around and he does a reallly good job for the money. granted we are not talking $5000 paint jobs here. his jobs are very good for small shows or nice daily drivers. i feel with all the prep it should come out nice. it is going back the original dark green metallic on the body with a seafoam green split stripe following the hood contour then picking up at the trunk with the same detail and the rear panel painted seafoam. i was going to go green with black but the colors are to close together to stand out

b.t.w. i am not getting the $229 maaco paint special. this is costing almost as much as the car did initially.

hey nick, i found a one time use digital camera at the local walgreens. when you get the film developed they send you a digital cd for your computer. the camera is a one time use deal and cost around $12. name is kodak plus digital. alot cheaper than a regular digital camera.(y)

You should not put anything wider than a 215 on a 6-inch wheel...

Sure, they'll physically go on the wheel, but look at how much the sidewalls are sucked inward. Clearly too narrow of wheel. Tire manufacturers list reccomended wheel widths for each tire size, which is usually good to stick to...

I agree with T.L. 245's are pretty big on a 6inch wheel. My sons Maverick has 215's on a 14x7 that's more of the way to go.

P.S. Jason what kind of wheels do you have on your car?

    As I said, no problems.
All the tread is on the ground and the sidewalls don't have a whole lot of bulge. If I still had a digital camera I'd take a picture for you. The tires actually look pretty natural on the wheels.

hey maverick 73, i am going for the whole sleeper look so i stuck with the stock 14x6 rim using full cover baby moon hubcaps. the cooper tire book said the cobra tires are designed to fit a 6-7.5 rim so i am within factory specs on the tire. 245 does sound very wide for these rims though. maybe it depends on the tire design?

b.t.w. if you know anyone who needs 195x65x14 tires i have a good set for sale.they have about 600 miles on them and are about 1 yr old.
