Why???

    Actually they are not the same, In my circle the term 302 means non roller block, Where 5.0 means FACTORY ROLLER block. ( If i say i need a balancer for a 302 then im going to get a 28 oz balancer)

    Yeah, the term 5.0 makes it easy to distinguish the different balance.

    I use them this way as well, but you can't count on other people to do the same. As evidenced by the whole Boss 302 thing.

    I have seen probably a dozen folks over the years insist that they had a Boss 302 in everything from a Maverick to a Granada.

    I had a neighbor tell me that his first car was a Maverick and that it came with a 390/4 speed. Never saw the car myself. Just heard him tell stories all the time.

    I always thought it stood for 4bbl, 4 speed and dual exhaust.... I guess not!

    4v, 4 spd, 2 exhaust...
