If it's not too late...look for dust/dirt on the regulator. That side will be on top when installed. It will be (very) hard for the dust and dirt to settle on the bottom of the regulator.

It is normal to have one round hole and one elongated. It helps regarding different expansion rates of the different materials during temperature changes. It is a technique more commonly used in woodworking.

Haven't had time to get back to it. I have everything prepped and ready to install. Maybe tonight.

Put everything back on the passenger side together again but still have the same result. I installed the glass and regulator on the driver side this evening and it works perfectly. I bought the regulator used. I'm pretty sure at this point that it was worn out when I got it. Anyone out there have a nice regulator for sale?

Only bad regulator I seen the glass wouldn't stay up. I have a regulator from a 71 Grabber that I can bring to Melvin's or we could ride to Pull-a-Part Saturday week and get one off a 70 Maverick

Thanks. I look forward to meeting you. I took a short video of the problem but I guess you can only upload pictures and not mp4 video to a thread.

Problem solved. I installed another window regulator even though the one I had looked fine but the window still popped out. I'm embarrassed to tell you what the problem was. After shining a fiber optic light on the front window channel I saw that the glass was resting outside of the channel. Feeling stupid!

I am having the exact same problem you described and I was truly hoping that we had the same issue (glass resting outside of the channel) but no such luck. We've tried everything except removing the glass & regulator completely... is the only other step available for us to take? To be honest, I don't even know how to determine if something is bent or worn out of this regulator once we have it out anyways??? Does anyone even manufacture aftermarket regulators for a 72' Maverick?

    Doug,
Those side channels can be adjusted a bit. I seem to remember having to move one of them a couple times until everything worked well together. I think I had one tightly in place and the other just snug and rolled the window up and down a few times until it freed up. Then tighten the 2nd one after it is moving like it should.

    Good luck!
