Worst state to buy a car from

I can believe there are instances where it IS possible to buy a rust free car in a state one might not expect. I bought my 74 Grabber in Robinson, IL from a VERY honest couple. They owned the car for a short period, having purchased it from a guy in Alabama. It must have been a barn find as I found absolutely no rust anywhere. Not even the brake lines were rusty.

While it is true that Mavericks or Comets driven year round in the rust belt will in all likelihood be rusty, it is entirely possible to find a car in one of those states that has not seen the ravages of winter and salt. Both Craig and I have or have had cars that are testimony to that.
