Would this exhaust pipe flow enough for my setup?

the reason for these style tips on the newer diesel trucks is to cool the exhaust when its coming out. these trucks now have particulate filters in the exhaust and every once in a while they go into a burn off mode that results in some extremely hot exhaust. the tips are designed to draw in cool air to lower the tail pipe exhaust temp. their in no scavenging involved.

So in other words, something to fix something that doesn't need fixing ?

 OK, whatever dude. You cannot explain some things to some people. Just the airflow moving thru the outer pipe will tend to pull the exhaust to some degree. If you cannot comprehend this, then I'm done 'splaining it to you. I guess those guys who use a similar setup to draw crankcase gases out of the engine using the exhaust have wasted their time and money too, huh ? Or people who smoke and crack a vent window open are halucinating when they see the smoke get sucked out of the window opening ? :rofl2: I never made a claim as to how well it worked, only it looked to me like it did work to some degree, And if you'd take the time to look at the pipe in a side view, you'd see what I was talking about as to the "venturi. It's not simply a pipe inside a larger single diameter pipe. I'm done.

LOL... I guess the old saying is true then.. you can force a horse to water.. but you can't force him to drink it. I'll stick with the physic's idea instead of believing what I want to just for the sake of cramming that puzzle piece into any old spot it might possibly fit. :)

And.. it's not like we haven't ever been led astray by the auto mfgrs either, eh?

If I lived closer to Scooper.. I'd gladly make him a dual merge setup(x 2) for both sides to have reguler 2.25 pipes dipping underneath those connectors.

Dual 2.25's with slants.. stainless or black.. usually always look good before the tires too. (y)

And it's obvious to me that either you didn't read and/or comprehend what I've posted here. Or you simply ignored it. You talk a good line, pretty much got some to believe everything you've everposted as gospel, especially with your lengthly posts. (that brings to mind an old saying about brilliance and BS) You seem to have a habit of ignoring things posted from those who you think are idiots. If you want to know what I'm talking about here go back and actually read what I said about the factory tips. Not just the parts you want to read, but ALL of it. Then get back to me if you understood it. ;)

any small block Ford doesn't need 3 inch pipes other than the "cool" factor, it is a small block 3 inch pipes are a waste on a street car

ok.. first off.. I have to apologize to you right up front.. since after the reread of my previous post it appeared that I was calling you the "horse".. when I was actually joking that I was the "horse". Sorry if it appeared that I was throwing a "funny tantrum" by disrespecting you with some smart-ass wit as I went out the door. I joke and tease a LOT(much of it often aimed at myself) and that was not my intention at all.

Secondly.. I most definitely understand more than you know I do.. and about many things. I do also know that you really need to work on checking your ego at the signin more often. Because IMHO, if you can't patiently debate or deal with some one disagreeing with any thing you write on a FORUM?.. then maybe you shouldn't be putting it out there in the first place. There's absolutely nothing wrong with debating and that's how we all learn new things on occasion. Not doing it effectively just stagnates the learning curve and slows the process, IMHO.

And as for the personal attack?.. well.. just because you're pouring it.. doesn't mean that I MUST drink it does it? And if I don't?.. who the hell really cares in the end? We're not competing for the nobel prize here and it's surely not like I spit in your face or something.. not to mention that you're not god for us to follow all of your commandments either. So, please get over yourself already.

As for the length of my posts?.. well.. in my defense(which seems silly to have to do since no one forces you to read them).. I have a lot to say sometimes.. I often have more time to do it than most( and even moreso through the winter months as work contracts slow down).. I like to share for pride gain's(not just ego).. and I type well over 60 words a minute. Not to mention that this isn't the only forum I frequent with that same mentality. So, what else would you expect from someone like that?

In the end here.. I was really hoping to learn something new from you on this particular subject as I certainly know you have a lot to offer folks around here. And I'm not too prideful to hang on coattails when I find longer ones worth clinging to.. but you make that increasingly difficult as your ego just gets in the way far too often when someone raises questions about your posted info/input.

IMHO, and since we jumped right over into the personal opinion tangent.. you just seem to have too much.. "my way or the highway".. attitude mixed in with the teaching you do/help you offer, is all I'm really getting at here. Because how we all react to adversity or debate from those who question our knowledge and input only paints the picture of where our motive's really lie.

Seems that some do it for learning through note comparison with others.. some for pride building measures.. and others for the ego boost it provides when they get shoved up even higher on a pedestal. And any combinations of the above seem perfectly normal.. as long it's not weighted too heavily to the latter. Something to think about.
