If you spent 10 grand on a car, then it's worth 10 grand, not 3-5, and if it was done well, you'd sell it easily for 10 grand.

I disagree for saying grabber hoods are the #1 looked for ... First thing you need when restoring a car is floor pans... I think you could sell some floor pans for mavericks easily and they arent hard to make just have to have the right design... Somebody who makes body panels all day could do it.

You would need a good pan to start with(that you can cut up and discard when done) Rapid prototyping equipment or multi axis laser plotter to plot the part out so a multi axis machine can cut the dies from at least two 4000 LB chunks of steel...Then you need a press to stamp the parts out...Even at chineese prices (50K to make the dies) 5000 pans...At 10.00 each Dont forget the cost of the steel...shipping(import/export taxes)This doesnt take into account the prototyping time/equipement and manpower costs(not to mention two 4000 lb billitts of tool steel or the press). When all is said and done...Are you going to pay 3 to 500 dollars for a"new" floorpan when you can get used for less in sizes/sections you need??? It sounds good...I know...but realistically...Whos gonna take that plunge financially???
OK so the 50 K may cover the dies/stamping(in CHINA)

After reading all of these posts it really puts Maveric Man's $675.00 Grabber hood in perspective. That is an awesome deal and a hellova nice product. I have to take my hat off to him for successfully bringing some nice parts to life for the Maverick comunity. :tiphat:

As for what I have seen on floor pans several people have easily modified mustang floor pans to work in our cars.

Realistically it will be even more then the cost of 50,000 becuase not everyone is ready to buy the product that is needed and I dont know about you guys but I dont have a shop to go and store 5,000 sets of floor pans. So if it ever comes to the fact that someone scrapes up enough money to do a production run they are going to have to store the dang things for 2,3,5,10..... whatever years because allot of guys are like me, just trying to keep our project moving forward one peice at a time and sad to say that might be way down on the list of things that are needed to be done.
And that does not even begin to account for the cost of packaging so the parts could even be shipped.

    Really???

So your saying if I took a nice maverick that I gave $1000, and had $10k worth of professional high class work done on the car, you'd pay me $11k for it?

    Doubtful
