A floor shifter will move your linkage in the opposite direction than the column. Your column linkage moves toward the rear of the car when shifting from park to drive while the floor shifter linkage will move it foward. You will have to change the transmission shifter arm which requires dropping the valve body. I've been told the exixting shifter can be removed, flipped 180 degrees and reinstalled. I have never tried this but if so, it will make your floor shifter work. If not you will have to get the shifter arm out of a C4 that came with a floor shifter
