throttle cable inquiry?

im not convinced that my existing maverick throttle cable allows for my 4 barrell's secondaries to open. how do i test to see if it is? with the car not running... ive manually pulled the throttle cable back, all the way. the secondary butterflies never open. however, that may be because they are vacuum secondaries. the caruretor is an edelbrock, and i installed the edelbrock throttle relocation kit. seems like the car was considerably "badder" before i installed the relocation kit, and new throttle cable. also... if i do buy a certain 67 mustang... could i transfer the old "bell-crank" throttle assembley over to the maverick?
