The Comet GT hood scoop and the 69 Mustang scoop are NOT the same! If you look closely, the Comet scoop looks more like a slightly smaller version of the Boss 429 scoop. I have an original, 1 owner 73 GT and we just brought the 69 Mach home this afternoon. The Mustang is long and narrow and is about the same width front to back and has turn signals in the rear. The Comet scoop flares out in the front and tapers down at the rear. It also has a definate point in the front, and as for function, they do a good job as a leaf catcher!
